Jing: essence, and the treasure you spend without noticing
Jing is essence. Your physical vitality, stored in the lower Dantian and through the whole body.
It is the treasure that fuels growth, repair and longevity, and it is the one people spend without noticing they are spending it.

What it does
Jing is the doing energy. The consistent, tangible steps that turn something imagined into something real.
Without action even the most inspired intention stays where it started. Jing is the reminder that creating anything means using your body and your energy to engage with the physical world, which is where transformation actually happens rather than where it gets planned.
How you build it
You move your body every day.
I am not being poetic about that. If you have a dog you walk the dog every day, or you turn it outside to walk itself. The dog gets moved. You are also an animal and the same rule applies.
Movement is the practice of embodiment. Learn Qigong, learn yoga, pick something and give it time every single day. Get out of your head and into your body and let it go deep and quiet for a while.
What depletes it
Stress carried for years. Poor sleep. Overwork. Fear held in the body. The things nobody schedules and everybody accumulates.
It is replenished through rest, grounding practice, and paying attention to the actual building blocks: minerals, nourishment, sleep that is long enough to repair something.
In practice
Pick one small action toward what you want and do it today. Writing a plan. Making the call. Clearing the space. Or 5 minutes of Qigong, which activates Jing directly and aligns the body with what the mind has been circling.
A standing practice like Embracing the Tree is the most direct route here, and that lives under Posture in the Seven Foundations.
Next in the sequence: Qi.
Part of the Three Treasures and the Three Centers.
If you want somewhere concrete to start moving daily, the beginner exercises and a simple 15-minute morning routine are both built for exactly this.

Depletion has causes worth investigating. If yours is persistent, what your thyroid does is a good place to start.
