Qigong vs Yoga: What Most People Don’t Realize
If you’ve ever wondered what the difference is between Qigong and yoga, you’re not alone.
Many people discover Healing Qigong after years of yoga or meditation. They are not necessarily looking to replace anything. They are usually looking for something that works with their energy instead of asking them to push through stress, fatigue, or inflammation.
Here is the short version.
Yoga is generally posture based. It works with shapes, alignment, strength, and flexibility. It can be gentle or intense, but the focus is often on what the body is doing externally.
Healing Qigong is energy based. Movements are not poses. They are designed to regulate qi, support the organ systems, and calm or strengthen the nervous system depending on what is needed.
Qigong often starts slowly because most modern nervous systems are overstimulated and wired and tired. That does not mean it stays slow. As regulation builds, practices can become strong, dynamic, and physically demanding. Intensity is added after the body has capacity, not before.
People often turn toward Healing Qigong when effort stops working. When pushing no longer restores energy. When something more intelligent and sustainable is needed.
